The Fire Marshal's office presently has the following duties associated with the territory:
- Fire Inspector/Code enforcement officer (powers mainly within the city limits of the City of Soldotna)
- Conducts Plan review for fire/life safety involving commercial occupancies within the City of Soldotna.
- Fire Public Educator within the schools, work places, or other areas of the community.
- Public Information Officer
- Community Events Coordinator
- Fire Investigation Supervisor/Certified Fire Investigator
- Other duties as assigned: fire suppression, EMS provider, etc.
