On Saturday December 15, C.E.S. responded to a report of smoke coming from the chimney & eves of a residence on Griffing Crt, near Pollard Lp in Kasilof.

On arrival, Tanker 1 reported smoke coming from the eves and garage area of the home, declaring an active fire inside the residence. The fire was declared under control within 25 minutes of the first arriving engine and reported out within an additional 20 minutes.

One engine, a ladder truck, medic unit, three tankers, three command vehicles and 13 personnel responded to the scene.

The fire damage was contained to the kitchen, the remainder of the residence sustained heat & smoke damage. Investigation determined the cause of the fire to be an electrical problem in a dishwasher.
