Just after 1:00 PM on April 25, 2007, C.E.S. was called out to a report of smoke showing from the windows of a home on Ruth Lane in Sterling. On arrival, Engine 3 reported heavy smoke coming from the residence and fire showing toward the rear.

C.E.S. responded with Engine 3, Tanker 3, Tanker 1, Tanker 4, Medic 1, command and support personnel and numerous on-call personnel.

The interior of the building was heavily damaged by smoke and fire, no cause had been determined at the time of the fire.
